Movie nights at Loevestein

Movie nights are back, and again this year they promise to enchant! Watching movies under the sparkling starry sky, with the cool castle as the backdrop. It doesn't get any more beautiful than that!
Together with the International Film Festival Gorinchem (IFFG) you are invited to three summer movie nights on August 29, 30 and 31.
Discover films that tell inspiring, impressive stories, stories that touch you and linger. Thursday, Aug. 29: The Old Oak. Friday, Aug. 30: Rapito. Saturday, August 31: Green Book. The films tie in perfectly with the exhibition "Opposites | Differently Connected," which you can explore prior to the screening.

Evening Out
Make your movie night a complete night out! Start the evening with a touch of history. With the ticket including museum visit, you can explore the castle from 5:30 p.m. onwards. Wander through the centuries-old corridors, admire the knight's room and step into Hugo de Groot's famous cell.

Afterwards, view the exhibition "Opposites. An exhibition about polarization, but also about connection. We are all sometimes guilty of categorizing people, but often we have much more in common with each other than we realize. Be inspired!

The Taveerne will be open until 7:30 p.m. for snacks and drinks. Take a seat on the terrace, overlooking the castle, and enjoy delicious homemade soup, fresh sandwiches or rich salads.

Water transportation
A movie ticket with water cab is valid for a crossing from Gorinchem. Riveer provides this sailing to and from Gorinchem.

Especially for the film screenings, Riveer sails twice an extra sailing from Gorinchem to Loevestein and back. The extra sailing departs at 17.30 for visitors with a ticket including museum visit, and at 19.45 for visitors with a ticket for the movie night. The return cruise departs from Loevestein at 11:30 pm.

Woudrichem via Foundation Boven 't Gat
The foot ferry between Woudrichem and Loevestein sails especially for the film screenings with continuous departures from the Rijkswal (6-minute walk from the Waterpoort). A ticket for the foot ferry can be purchased on board. The foot ferry sails in the regular schedule until 5:15 p.m.. Then there are extra sailings outward from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. and from 7:45 to 8:30 p.m. Back, the foot ferry sails from 11 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.
