An evening with Humberto Tan and Lammert Kamphuis

On Saturday evening, November 9, 2024, Slot Loevestein is hosting a special evening of inspiration and conviviality. Presenter Humberto Tan and philosopher Lammert Kamphuis will discuss the current theme of polarization, inspired by Kamphuis' book Verslaafd aan ons eigen gelijk gelijk gelijk gelijk gelijk (Addicted to Our Own Right) and his theatrical tour of the same name.

At a time when society seems to be polarizing more and more, Humberto and Lammert invite the audience to delve deeper into the question: why is it that we sometimes get so bogged down in our own beliefs, and how can we learn to be more open to other perspectives? Whether it's urban versus rural, woke and alt-right, or conspiracy thinkers versus the mainstream: the evening offers an interesting look at how we can connect with dissenters.

Program of the evening
From 19:00 you are welcome in the Brouwhuis for drinks with delicious snacks, at 20:00 the discussion between Humberto Tan and Lammert Kamphuis starts. After the inspiring discussion there will be room for questions from the audience, followed by an exclusive viewing of the exhibition ''Opposites'' in the castle. Visitors can explore on their own or join a guided tour by experienced guides. The evening will end with drinks, so you can chat and share the evening's impressions.
