Chamber Music Heusden Vesting cordially invites you to a unique concert in historic and artistic Heusden. This special evening brings together two instruments that, though rarely heard in combination, form a fascinating musical dialogue: the mighty organ and the graceful harp.
The organ, often hailed as the "king of instruments," offers a wealth of sounds, from subdued and delicate to grand and majestic. The harp, with its refined and ethereal sound, adds a unique clarity and subtlety, creating an enchanting balance.
During the concert, Marcel Verheggen will play the monumental 1828 N.A. Lohman organ, as well as the choir organ of de Wit Waddinxveen. Véronique Serpenti brings the magic of the harp to life and together they create a harmony not to be missed.
The program includes masterpieces such as the harp concerto by Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf, the Aria in classical style by Marcel Grandjany and Concierto no.1 by Josef Blanco.
Get carried away by this incomparable fusion of sounds and enjoy an evening of musical refinement.
Marcel Verheggen is organist of St. Servatius Basilica and principal study teacher in organ at the Maastricht conservatory. He deals with all types of music, from the earliest organ music to performing premieres in collaboration with composers. He is also active as an improviser. As a KKOR advisor, he is involved in restoration and new organ construction projects. He is vice president of the CvON, the college of organ advisors. He is much in demand as a soloist, accompanist and teacher (master classes) on national and international stages. In Maastricht he is active as one of the artistic advisors at the foundation Pro Organo.
Veronique Serpenti is one of the leading classical harpists. You can hear her on all kinds of stages at home and abroad. For example, she has been playing regularly with the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra since 2003, she has soloed with several professional orchestras and you will often come across her on the many chamber music stages. She also performs under the banner of the Berghout Ensemble with luminaries from Dutch chamber music, such as clarinetist Lars Wouters, the Ruysdael Quartet and the Animato Quartet.
