For years he toured every imaginable venue in the country with his piano in the back of his trunk, where he managed to bend the atmosphere to his will with his energetic and original way of performing. Joel's breakthrough came in 2022 with performances at festivals such as Paaspop, The Amsterdam Summer, Culinesse and the Ziggo Dome. On March 22, 2024, a big dream came true and Joël stood in a sold-out AFAS Live with his first own concert. New repertoire by Joël Borelli is also being worked on in the studio.

In September 2023, his theater tour, Introducing: Joël Borelli, started. "That I am now in the theater is very special to me. It has been a promise to my mother. We had very nice conversations and she was proud of me. The steps I have made in the past three years she unfortunately did not live to see, but before that she went along to shows. 'Telling stories and making music, that's you,' she said. My first tour in theaters, last year, was practically sold out. I enjoyed every performance so intensely and feel so in place here. I can't wait to continue the tour from October 2024, throughout the Netherlands."
