VERDI Concert

Liedertafel 'Oefening en Vermaak' Waalwijk is a mixed choir of over 40 members, founded in 1860.
Singing classical and semi-classical music is preferred, but musical and modern songs are also regularly rehearsed.
The Tilburgs Mannenkoor 'La Renaissance' consists of a club of 35 enthusiastic singing friends and was founded in 1911. The repertoire consists of opera and choral music, musical works and religious songs.
Both choirs are under the expert direction of conductor Carl van Kuyck.
On Oct. 13, the choirs, together with several guest singers and former members, and with the cooperation of soloists Anitra Jellema (soprano), Bernadette ter Heyne (mezzo-soprano), Leon van Liere (tenor) and Martijn Sanders (bass), will give a large concert at Theater De Leest in Waalwijk, which will feature works by the composer Giuseppe Verdi. The Möbius Ensemble Tilburg (MET) and pianist Ben Martin Weijand will provide the musical accompaniment.
Central to the repertoire are the operas Il Trovatore and I Lombardi. In addition, you will hear parts from Nabucco and La Traviata.
This concert starts at 2:30 p.m. and tickets at 25,- (including an intermission drink) can be ordered from the members of the two choirs and at Theater De Leest: online (theaterkassa@deleest.nl), at the box office (tuesday to fri. 11:00-13:00 and one hour prior to performances and films) and by phone (0416 331751 Mon. to fri. 11:00-13:00).
