Een Schitterend Gebrek is based on Arthur Japin's bestseller of the same name, which was a huge success with a 72nd printing and translations in as many as 22 countries. Japin also co-wrote the English-language screenplay himself. Director Michiel van Erp (Stromboli, Nobody in the City) brings the story to life with Maarten Heijmans, Jonah Hauer-King and Dar Zuzovsky on the big screen.
