The monologue ''t Hooge Nest'' is based on Roxane van Iperen's bestseller, a blood-curdling book about courage, betrayal and human resilience. When the author and her family move into an old villa in the woods of Naarden, she knows nothing of its secret history. Only during renovations does she find intriguing traces of the past. Under the wooden floors and behind wall panels, Van Iperen finds hiding places and resistance newspapers.

She begins a years-long search to find out what happened during that period. This is how she discovers that at the lowest point of the war, thanks to Jewish sisters Janny and Lien Brilleslijper, 't Hooge Nest was one of the largest hiding addresses in the Netherlands.
