Wicked has been one of the most beloved musicals in the theater for twenty years and is finally coming to the big screen this Christmas as a spectacular movie. In Wicked, we are introduced to the still unknown story of the Witches of Oz. Emmy-, Grammy- and Tony-winner Cynthia Erivo (Harriet, the Broadway version of The Color Purple) stars as Elphaba, a young woman who feels insecure because of her unusual green skin and has yet to discover her true strength. Grammy winner and global superstar Ariana Grande plays Glinda, a popular, privileged and ambitious young woman who has yet to figure out who she herself really is. The two meet as students at Shiz University in the magical Land of Oz and forge an unlikely but close friendship. After an encounter with the Wizard of Oz, their friendship is put to the test and they will take very different paths. Glinda's desire for popularity will cause her to succumb to the temptations of power. Elphaba, on the other hand, is determined to remain true to herself and those around her, which will have unexpected and shocking consequences for her future. After their extraordinary adventures in Oz, they will eventually come to be known as Glinda the Good Witch and Wicked Witch of the West.
