Writer Maarten Kuipers comes to Slot Loevestein during Children's Book Week
Children's Book Week will take place from Oct. 2 through Oct. 13, with the theme "Cocky! Characters with a mind of their own are put in the spotlight this week. Characters who are a tad, or sometimes very, headstrong.

Maarten Kuipers comes to Loevestein
Sunday morning, October 13, is the meet & greet with Maarten Kuipers. At 11:00 am he will read from his book 'Groot verdwijnboek' in the Zael of the castle. Afterwards, children can ask the author questions and have their book signed.
Also meet the main character around whom the book and the most famous escape revolve: Hugo de Groot. Climb into the bookcase yourself and take a cool picture with Hugo. He will also tell you his escape story afterwards.
Design your own cover
The lock and the author challenge young readers and artists to draw their own new, cool, cool or moving book cover for the 'Groot Verdwijnboek'. Starting in September, you will receive a blank cover of the book at the lock's box office. It can also be downloaded from the lock's website. The winner will win 4 tickets for October 13 as well as a signed copy of the Groot Verdwijnboek by Maarten Kuipers.
