The approach for the concert is to strive for a more inclusive society, where everyone has equal opportunities in our society.
Based on four themes, the Symphonic Wind Orchestra of Harmonie Drunen led by Johan Smeulders and Het Groot Dwergonisch Mannenkoor led by Ton van Baest will musically express 80 years of freedom: commemorate, connect, celebrate, look ahead.
150 musicians and choir members are on one stage. The youth mayors will have their say, attention will be paid to the refugees in the municipality and so will the veterans in Heusden. The winners of the poetry contest on Freedom in cooperation with Heusden Library and the d'Oultremont College will have their prize-winning poem heard. In addition, there are a number of peripheral activities. The presentation is in the hands of alderman Jeroen van den Bosch.
There are two performances of the Freedom Concert, at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tickets of € 10.00 are available from September 1 at De Voorste Venne. By using this low admission price, we want to welcome the widest possible audience in two full halls of the Voorste Venne.
