Lecture "Heusden in Pen and Brush" Ad Hartjes
On April 18, 2024 Ad Hartjes will provide an interesting lecture telling the history of the Fortress of Heusden through a number of drawings and watercolors.
These watercolors were created by René van Boxtel, the former town restorer who worked extensively on the appearance of Heusden. René van Boxtel's fortress is colorful and orderly - cars and people do not appear in it - and instantly recognizable to everyone.
On the occasion of the 2021 exhibition at the Governor's Mansion, the idea had come up of putting together a presentation of this and using Will Dijkstra's texts as appendices to the watercolors.
Then all the drawings and watercolors were photographed and brought together in this presentation.
