Delta concert Holland Baroque & Luciana Mancin

After its successful launch in 2023, the second edition of Delta Concert will take place at Slot Loevestein on Friday, July 5. This location was not chosen at random. Slot Loevestein is the gateway to the Dutch river delta and also part of the Dutch Waterline.

Holland Baroque brings fast and virtuoso music from the sunny south to Slot Loevestein. On the lecterns are traditional tarantellas and music from the 17th and 18th centuries by Antonio Vivaldi, Luigi Boccherini, Giuseppe Valentini and Francesco Geminiani, among others. With the magnificent 14th-century Slot Loevestein as a backdrop, complemented by the sunset and sounds of nature, experience this music at its finest. With guest Chilean-Swedish mezzo-soprano Luciana Mancini.

The tarantella is said to have once worked wonders as dance therapy against spider venom. Like the Fandango, Folia and other folk dances in which madness leads to energetic and virtuosic pieces, wild dance was a grateful source of inspiration for Baroque composers. Dive back centuries in time and enjoy music, nature and heritage.
