RESTORATION ATELIER VERBIEST GUEST ON MONUMENT DAY AT THE HOUSE OF WAALWIJK
After working for several years as a paintings, paper and painted objects restorer at various restoration and calamity companies, Diede Verbiest had decided to set up her own restoration studio in Waalwijk in 2018.

Art has inspired her from an early age. This inspiration includes not only the creative process of making art herself, but also the beauty of other people's artworks. So for her, it was natural that her future consisted of art and its craft.
According to Diede, it is wonderful to see that a seriously damaged painting or a broken sculpture can be restored to its former glory. It gives enormous satisfaction to remove a yellowed layer of varnish and rediscover the beautiful colors as the artist intended.
By working with other conservators and attending various courses, symposiums and workshops, she stays abreast of the latest developments within the profession. She is a member of Restorers Netherlands and Art Restorers Association and maintains her adherence to the Code of Ethics.
During the Monuments Weekend on Sunday afternoon, September 15, Diede can be seen at work in the House of Waalwijk from 13:00 to 17:00.
