Theater icon Anne Wil Blankers, audience favorite Lies Visschedijk and super talent Daniel Cornelissen are together on stage in the Dutch adaptation of memory play Galerie "The Waverly" by currently Broadway's most popular writer Kenneth Lonergan.

In the powerful, poignant and often hilarious play, we follow the final years of a generous, talkative grandmother Merel (Anne Wil Blankers), who struggles with the ruthless Alzheimer's disease but still runs a small art gallery.

We follow her struggle to maintain her independence and the effect of her decline on her family, especially her daughter (Lies Visschedijk) and her grandson (Daniel Cornelissen). Through his eyes, the audience sees the confusion and separation, but also grandmother's optimism and courage. Gallery "The Waverly" is not only a piece about memories and loss, but also shows the humor and strength of a family in crisis.

Gallery 'The Waverly' makes tangible in a hilarious and at the same time heartbreaking way how a family is shaken and yet manages to hold on to those same shaky people.

'Galerie The Waverly begins with a laugh and ends with a tear. Through a strong cast and actor direction, Kenneth Lonergan's tragicomedy comes off excellently.' - Theater Newspaper

While her loved ones must come to terms with their own incapacity, Blankers wanders helplessly and increasingly panicky across the stage, and it is beautifully painful. - de Volkskrant ★★★★★★★★★
