The difference between a Tourist Information Point (TIP) and VVV

| Sarah Pilasky

Are you looking for a VVV in Waalwijk, Kaatsheuvel or Loon op Zand, or a VVV in Heusden Vesting? Spoiler: you're not going to find one there. But have no fear, these have been exchanged for Tourist Information Points where you can go with all your questions about sightseeing, booking tours, cycling and walking routes and more. Below we briefly explain the difference between a VVV and Toerist Information Point (TIP) and what you can find in the TIPs.

A little history

As early as 1885, the first VVV was established. Entrepreneurs from South Limburg were looking for ways to promote their region and offer visitors the optimal experience. After the start of the first VVV, VVVs arose throughout the Netherlands and continued to cooperate with each other. From this, the umbrella organization VVV Netherlands emerged.

The VVV brand

Meanwhile, VVV has become a tourism brand name known throughout the Netherlands and abroad. By means of a VVV License one can cooperate with VVV Netherlands for city or regional promotion. The VVV License entitles you to use the VVV brand at physical locations and in (online) media communications about the destination. It is therefore used to support the marketing of the destination.

Tourist information point vs. Tourist information point

By now, most people are familiar with VVV information points. Visitors can go here for information about the city or region, tips for overnight accommodations or restaurants, and tours can often be booked. You can also find free and paid cycling and walking routes, city maps, postcards and souvenirs. So everything to offer the visitor or tourist the best possible experience in the city and region.

And this is no different for Tourist Information Points: at these locations you will find exactly the same thing, but without the VVV branding.

Tourist Information Point (TIP) Heusden Vesting, Kaatsheuvel and Waalwijk

The De Langstraat region works with Tourist Information Points. That is, in Heusden Vesting, Kaatsheuvel and Waalwijk you will not find a VVV office, but a Tourist Information Point (TIP).

So if you would like to know what you can do in municipality Heusden (Heusden Vesting, Drunen, Vlijmen and surroundings), municipality Waalwijk (Waalwijk, Sprang-Capelle, Waspik) and / or municipality Loon op Zand (Loon op Zand, Kaatsheuvel, de Moer), please visit our Tourist Information Points. These locations are usually staffed by enthusiastic volunteers who love to tell you about the cities, villages, entire region and all the activities you can do here. You can also get cycling and walking maps, tips for places to stay, restaurants, events and souvenirs of the region.

Small, local TIPs

Did you know that we also have smaller information points in the region? Here you will find a modest range of information about the region and free cycling and walking routes. You will find these leaflets in a leather patch hanging on the wall at the location.
