Tall trees catch a lot of wind
The saying "Tall trees catch a lot of wind" means that if you hold an important position in which you have to make a lot of decisions (like a mayor) you can expect a lot of criticism. In this beautiful park that has existed since 1950, there are many old trees. Some trees were so tall that branches were blown off. These trees have not been removed, but are supported or the branches rest on the ground. Do you see that too? Mayor Lombooij had this walking park created for the residents of Waalwijk, because he thought there were too few trees and flowers in the city.
