Old factories proverb trail
From the 18th century, many shoes were made in Kaatsheuvel. Almost every house had its own little factory behind the house. Here they worked the leather (=leather tanning) or made shoes. Behind the house of Hoofdstraat 1 and also to its left, at number 3, you can still clearly see what those factories looked like.
