House ten Deijl
The building of Huis ten Deijl was built in 1906 as a replacement for an adjacent inn destroyed by fire. This inn serves as a changing place for the horses and the stagecoach dropping off or picking up travelers. The inn is strategically located on the Napoleon Road. In 1812, this paved stone road from Amsterdam to Paris was built to move Napoleon's troops. The Wilhelminalaan has long been part of the Breda-Gorinchem route. The new building of "Huis ten Deijl" starts as a hotel/café but grows into a dance hall and later a discotheque.
