When Jan got involved 25 years ago, the church had been vacant for at least a decade. Previously, there were two Protestant churches in the community. Because at the time it was too much work to maintain two churches, they chose to leave the largest church to its fate. The Lambert Church was the largest church but also the church that was in the worst condition. About 25 years ago, a foundation was established by a number of people to restore the church and put it to use. The foundation raised money and thus completely restored the church part by part.

During that time, they also conducted archaeological excavations. Jan directed the excavations, which is how they found a burial vault, graves and foundations of an earlier church, among other things. You can learn more about this during the tours that are given. The beauty of this is that you can take a tour whenever it is convenient for you. Morning, afternoon or evening, it's all possible! The VVV also organizes a bicycle tour that passes by the Lambertus Church. During the tour you can take a look at the highest point of the church. A real spiral staircase leads you to the big bell. Archaeological finds can also be admired during the tour.

The church is run by five administrators and five trustees, all volunteers with a heart for the monumental building who would love to tell you about the rich history of the property.
