Ferry house De Zwaan in Andel
On the Hoge Maasdijk in Andel you will find the former ferry house De Zwaan. This building used to serve as an inn and stable for carriages, which can even be read in French on the facade. In the past, the cable ferry to Poederoijen left here and steamboats docked that sailed to Rotterdam and 's-Hertogenbosch. The remains of the jetty are still visible. The building is now a National Monument and is occupied, but its history is still tangible when you cycle past.
