Proverb route - Heemtuin

The word garden in the expression leading someone around the garden actually means the fence óround the garden. If you lead someone around (or past) the fence, you pretend that there is nothing to see inside the fence, when in fact there is. So you are misleading someone! The proverb is usually not used with malicious intent, but to play a joke on the other person.

A special garden
You are now walking through a large vegetable garden: the Heemtuin! In this garden you will discover which flowers, plants and herbs are grown now and in the past to produce food.
