Footprint Crescent Trail
In the flat landscape of the Raamsdonk countryside, you can view Footprint from all directions. Two times two shoe soles together form a gateway, with the Halve Zolenpad as a passageway. The shoe soles refer to the shoe and leather industry that used to be found in the Langstraat region. And thus also in Raamsdonk.
If you look closely, you can recognize the steam locomotive that used to run over the railroad line. The Slagen landscape so typical of this region can also be seen in the design. The artwork is made of Corten steel. Thus the use of materials refers to the rails of the former railroad line.
Footprint by artist Harald Vlugt is the second artwork created specifically for art project Crescent Line. The artwork was unveiled on July 13, 2016.
