Walking through De Loonse en Drunense Duinen

2 hours (10.5 km)

During this hike you will get to know the area, also called the Sahara of North Brabant, De Loonse en Drunense Duinen. Here you will find large sandy plains, heathland and forests. The polar winds during the last ice age created many thick layers of sand in Brabant. You also walk past Landgoed Plantloon, an estate in English landscape style with old lanes, deciduous forests, farms and meadows surrounded by hedgerows. Halfway, you can take a break at De Roestelberg. Coffee is always ready for you here. Enjoy a nice lunch or a special beer before continuing your walk.
