Between node 10 and 08

  • Sint Jansplein with the neo-Byzantine Sint Jan de Doperkerk, one of the most beautiful churches in the Netherlands. Viewing is possible from Wed to Sun from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. For more info: see site vriendensintjanwaalwijk.nl
  • Hay Lane. Restored shoemaker's cottages and town garden.
  • Kropholler Complex. Former town hall of Waalwijk, since 2022 the Schoenenkwartier is located here.
  • Winterdijk. It was built after the Sint Elisabethflood to protect the region from flooding. The road behind the dike was called "De Langhe Straet," after which the region was named.

Between node 08 and 18

  • Church on the Harbour. This is where the border between Holland and Brabant ran. Throughout the route you will regularly encounter border posts.

Between node 10 and 08

TIP: Behind the church, in the former harbor sits city brewery and brew pub Sint Crispijn, a must for any beer lover. Cheers!

  • Memorial to Jewish war victims. On the spot where a synagogue stood until 1965.
  • The Maria Church in Besoyen was built in 1927. In 2011, it received a new use as an apartment complex.
  • The little white church (1610) with the gauge stone in the facade showing the water level of the Saint Elizabeth Flood (1421).
  • At the corner of Westeinde/Besoyensestraat, you will see the (originally Moluccan) An Nur Mosque on the right.
  • Lettuce landscape and wheels. Nature restoration project West Langstraat (Natura 2000 area).

Between node 18 and 45

  • Kasteel Zuidewijn on the Hogevaart canal. Late 16th century.
  • Crescent Line. The former railroad line between Den Bosch and Lage Zwaluwe. Now art and poetry cycle route.

Between node 45 and 11

  • The Reformed Church 's Grevelduin-Capelle was rebuilt safely behind the dike after the St. Elisabeth Flood.
  • Note: Before viewing the church, drive 300 meters on Winterdijk toward knp 18 before returning to knp 11.

Between node 02 and 36

  • War Memorial Kapelse Veer. A battle between the Allies and German occupiers raged here at the end of World War II.
  • Note: This monument is located about 200 meters toward the ferry. Then return to knp 02.
  • Room for the River at Overdiepse polder with mound-based farms. On the left is the Oude Maasje.

TIP: Make a round trip along the picturesque former port of Waspik. After knp 36, at the point where the route bends sharply left, you can turn right for a short round on the Havendijk to return to the route towards knp 75.

Between node 36 and 75

  • N.H. church Waspik. Before the reformation R.C. Johannes de Doper church (15th century). At the entrance to the cemetery there is still a 'morgue'.
  • RC Water State Church. One of the church buildings built between 1824 and 1875 as an outgrowth of the Reformation under the supervision of engineers of the Department of Public Works.

TIP: Both on the terrace and inside, at Brasserie Bij8 in Waspik is a great place to recover from the first part of this route. (open di - sat)

Between node 48 and 29

  • Terrace B&B/Tea Garden "The Low Bridge," with high weir. Located on the Winding Path (not always open).
  • Fish passage in the river Donge. seen at the weir. This river used to be heavily polluted by waste from the tanneries, among other things.

Between node 28 and 27

  • N.H. Martin's Church 's Gravenmoer. Stems from the 14th century.
  • Main Street 's Gravenmoer. Note the stately buildings and ditches on the side of the road.
  • Grensdijkjes. The jagged border between Brabant and Holland.

Between node 24 and 51

  • High and Low Zandschel. Around 1720 the refuge of the robbers of "The Gang of the White Feather.
  • Neo Romanesque Church Martyrs of Gorcum. (off-route).
  • Restaurant The Chapel. A beautiful repurposing of religious heritage as a stylish (lunch) restaurant.

TIP: Restaurant The Chapel is open for the most delicious lunch dishes. The kitchen team cooks fresh daily and with the seasons. Divine!

Between node 51 and 23

  • St. John the Baptist Church. Neo-Gothic cross basilica (1912).

Between node 23 and 19

  • "The Couwenbergh". Round stone bell mill from 1850; today restaurant.
  • Opened in 2021 Snelfietspad F261 (between Waalwijk-Tilburg).

Between node 19 and 17

  • NH Church Sprang. Early 14th century. See the sign next to the entrance.
  • Standerd mill Dye Sprancke, still in use as a grist mill.

Between node 17 and 44

  • Driessen estate. Urban expansion Waalwijk.
  • Bank Swallow Wall. Space for nature, close to the city.

Between node 44 and 10

  • War memorial by J.A. Raedecker. At the edge of the city walking park.

TIP: Enjoy the route in the center of Waalwijk for a while, and at Kandinsky you will always receive a warm welcome.
