It is a passed station
You are now walking along the Halve Zolenpad. On this spot once stood the station of Waalwijk. The Halve Zolenpad was a track for the train from Lage Zwaluwe to 's-Hertogenbosch. It was 30 kilometers long in total. Officially it was called the Langstraatspoorlijn, but it was soon called the Halve Zolenlijn.

It's over!
When someone says "that's a passed station," they mean that it's best not to talk about it anymore, because there's nothing left to change. You're basically saying, 'The train has already passed a certain station. If you should have gotten off, you're too late now.'

Facts from Sjors
- The railroad only had 1 track, which is why they called it "half" railroad! Also, the name refers to the shoe industry.

Facts from Sjors
- The railroad only had 1 track, which is why they called it the "half" railroad! Also, the name refers to the shoe industry.
- The Halve Zolenlijn was made in 1890 for all transport to and from the shoe factories.
- After World War II, the shoe industry declined sharply: the last train ran here in 1972.
- At the end of the 20th century, people turned the old railroad line into a cycling and walking path. It is partly walked during the annual walking tour "the 80 of De Langstraat".
