De Pastorie
This location is part of the "Walking in Historic Loon op Zand' route.
This national monument was built in the year 1898 by order of pastor P.H.Klijsen to a design by architect Th. Smeele. The architectural style shows influences of the Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Gothic. Remarkably, the building consists of two parts: the right part is significantly higher. In fact, it is a composition of two separate buildings and we look to the left against a side facade, namely that of the so-called maids' house. This was the home of the domestic servants, whose facade is directly opposite the church's presbytery.
In a niche above the entrance to the rectory is a statue of Christ as the Good Shepherd. It was probably installed in the year of construction, 1898.
