You are on the Orange Square. The square has carried this name since the late 1940s because of the marriage of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard in 1937 and the birth of Princess Beatrix in 1938. On April 30, 1988, the 50th birthday of then Queen Beatrix, the so-called Beatrix tree was planted.
During the sacramental processions of yore, a resting altar was erected on this central square.
