St. Gertrude's Church
Every year during the summer months of July and August, the Geertruidskerk on the Market Square is open to the public. The centuries-old church building is beautifully restored and worth a visit in itself. Inside the church are several wall signs, the most striking of which is the fishing sign from 1616, painted by Isaac Bouquet. The memorial to Admiral Zoutman bears witness to a glorious past. At the end of the 19th century, the crypt under the choir was reopened. In the months of July and August, the church is open to the public every day during afternoons. In addition, a new summer exhibition is organized every year. Guided tours are possible upon reservation through the TIP Geertruidenberg, tel.: 0162 - 517689.
