Galerij Raadhuisplein
This location is part of the Wet Blue route.
In 1937 Kropholler designed the storefront on Grotestraat 247-251 for wholesale grocer De Gruyter. By means of the arcade on the west side of the Raadhuisplein, he connects this building with the residence of the commissioner of the Waalwijk municipal police, at Raadhuisplein number 1.
A permanent music kiosk was incorporated, and to allow the gallery to also be used as a market hall, the arches were given a closed back wall.
When the town hall was expanded with an addition in 1986, that back wall was removed. The open side of the bandstand was closed with glass and served as the public gallery of the new council chamber until 2010.
