The former town hall is built in 1895 as a public school, replacing the popularly named " 't Ouw school" on Schoolpad. In 1929, the municipality of Raamsdonk buys the building and converts it into a town hall. Because Raamsdonksveer grows much faster than the village of Raamsdonk at that time, the town council decides to move the town hall from Raamsdonk to this building. The municipal name Raamsdonk remains. Architect Sangster, the designer of the water tower on the Oosterhoutseweg, designs a new facade. After the purchase of Huize Chartroise across the Heereplein, it loses its function as town hall.
