Mark and Daniëlle, for over twenty years proud owners of a very special place in Raamsdonksveer. Together with their cozy team they have built a beautiful hotel and a cozy, cozy brasserie. We visited Hotel Heere and Brasserie de Schuur. Read on below!
About twenty years ago, Daniëlle and Mark started restaurant Timmy's Eethuys. Five years later, they opened the doors of Hotel Heere. At that time, they used the restaurant in the morning for hotel guests to have a nice breakfast. Mark and Daniëlle started with five hotel rooms but soon expanded to eleven rooms.
In the years since, the couple has not been idle. They have since created a beautiful brasserie next to Timmy's Eethuys and built another fifteen hotel rooms in the building next to the brasserie.
The four newest rooms above the brasserie were inaugurated in early May.
Six years ago, Mark and Daniëlle bought the building that now houses the brasserie. This used to be a carriage house. Elements of the past can still be seen in the brasserie today. For example, they now use the horses' former mangers as tables for the breakfast buffet. Many old elements have been preserved, making it a very warm, surprising but above all cozy place.
Mark has a background in the hospitality industry. He trained as a chef in Belgium, as did his oldest son who now works as a chef at the brasserie.
Daniëlle comes from a healthcare background but was then also infected with the hospitality virus. In the company, Daniëlle mainly deals with personnel matters and jumps in where necessary. Mark takes care of the administrative side. This makes them a great team.
At Brasserie de Schuur they use a lot of local products. You can come here for a good cup of coffee with a piece of cake, a nice lunch, drinks or dinner. The brasserie can also be used for small parties such as a wedding, brunch or buffet for a group of up to sixty people.
Daniëlle finds it very beautiful that together they manage to get so much done. They work with a team of about 25 people who do everything for each other. The friendliness and togetherness among the colleagues is great and as a guest you can really notice that.
Are you visiting the hotel or the brasserie? Then take a good look at the beautiful decor. Daniëlle did this all by herself. Do not forget to ask about the history of the building because there are many elements from the past that they have brought back into the interior.
In short, a wonderful place where old-fashioned coziness and hospitality is number 1 but in a beautiful modern jacket!
