Rijswijk Wheel
The Biesbosch Line, to which the Rijswijk Wheel belongs, has a history of floods with often serious consequences. In 1809 dikes broke as a result of large masses of creeping ice, causing the Maas dike in Rijswijk to break and a wheel was created. This wheel, now surrounded by greenery, is in a beautiful natural area where you can get off for a walk. The area is a quiet place to enjoy nature and contemplate history.
