The Pentecostal Flower
In 1902, the brick manufacturer and later mayor Herman Allard bought a piece of land in the Emiliapolder called 'De Pinksterbloem'. From the first bricks made in his Waal brick factory 'De Donge', he builds a country house designed by architect J.L. van Straaten. The house is also called "De Pinksterbloem. Despite the changes by garden architect Reyers in 1920, the garden still recognizes the 1903 design by garden architect Maréchal. In 1990, the house and garden were thoroughly refurbished.
