Practice makes perfect
Kunstencentrum Waalwijk is the center for the arts in Waalwijk. Lessons are given in dance, music, musical/theater and visual arts. The saying "practice makes perfect" means that by practicing a lot you get better at something. So an art can be anything: dancing, drawing, playing guitar but also playing soccer or doing the cartwheel. When you walk down the Stationsstraat, you see some beautiful old buildings on your left. At number 115 there used to be steam shoe factory A.H. van Schijndel. Next to it you see the house where the director of the factory lived and next to it you see the facade of the Chrome Leather Factory Van Dooren De Greeff. In 1910, this was one of the most modern shoe factories in the Netherlands. With 150 employees, it was the largest company in Waalwijk. In 1965 the factory closed and now it is an apartment building.
