Church Street 13
This location is part of the "Walking in Historic Loon op Zand' route.
This property was built in 1880. A tannery once stood behind this property.
On the left side wall, hidden behind the downspout, is a terracotta tile with the image of Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help. During the time around World War II, many residents of Loon op Zand had the image of Mary placed against their homes, preferably in the form of a tile.
On the same spot stood from 1782 to 1853 the town hall of Loon op Zand. After fierce disputes, it was decided in the latter year to transfer the town hall to the larger nucleus of Kaatsheuvel. The name of the municipality remained Loon op Zand.
